Self-Equalized Distributed Amplifier for Wide Band Optical Transceivers
A novel technique for a self-equalized distributed amplifier is presented by showing the analogy between transversal filters and distributed amplifier topologies. The appropriate delay and gain coefficients of amplifier circuit are obtained by a Fourier expansion of the raised cosine spectrum in the frequency range of 0-40GHz.
متن کاملDesigning Wide-band Transformers for HF and VHF Power Amplifiers
In the design of RF power amplifiers, wide-band transformers play an important role in the quality of the amplifier as they are fundamental in determining the input and output impedances, gain flatness, linearity, power efficiency and other performance characteristics. The three forms of transformers that are encountered, unbalanced-to-unbalanced (unun), balanced-to-balanced (balbal), and balan...
متن کاملSystematic Generation of Wide Band Cmos Low-noise Amplifier Topologies
Alternative wide band Low-Noise Amplifier (LNA) topologies to be used for highly integrated CMOS transceivers are investigated. A methodology that systematically generates all the LNA topology options with 2 Voltage Controlled Current Sources (VCCS) is presented. Next to wellknown circuits such as the common gate stage and shunt series feedback common source stage, 2 alternative LNA topology ar...
متن کاملDesign of an S-band Ultra-low-noise Amplifier with Frequency Band Switching Capability
In this paper, an ultra-low-noise amplifier with frequency band switching capability is designed, simulated and fabricated. The two frequency ranges of this amplifier consist of the 2.4 to 2.5 GHz and 3.1 GHz to 3.15 GHz frequency bands. The designed amplifier has a noise figure of less than 1dB, a minimum gain of 23 dB and a VSWR of less than 2 in the whole frequency band. The design process s...
متن کاملA Low Power, High Gain, Low Noise Amplifier with Improved Noise Figure and Input Matching for Ultra Wide Band Applications
Abstract– In this paper, two low noise amplifiers (LNAs), one without feedback and another one with active shunt partial feedback, are proposed for ultra wide band (UWB) applications. Both the proposed LNAs are designed using 90 nm CMOS technology and their performance parameters are analyzed by using post layout simulation. The proposed LNA without feedback achieves a power gain (S21) of 16.4 ...
